Jason was a semi-truck driver for Pepsi and stumbled his way into blogging and the whole make money online thing… He basically backdoor’ed his way into Internet marketing.

After a couple years of struggling and barely making any money (quitting his Pepsi job in the meantime), he finally figured out how to create ‘money sites’ that get totally free traffic and crush it in passive money making.

In less than a year, he’s managed to put together a portfolio of money sites that are doing more than $24,000/month in income, in lots of different niches, and have landed him on quite a few leaderboards… Whether he decides to work or not.

    It’s misleading to say that one can register a domain, throw up an affiliate site for Amazon products, and make money before the internet marketing party. Amazon has a threshold one much earn beyond in order to get paid, and there is a delay between the time money is earned and money is paid out.

    Just sayin’ …

      That’s a really good point Janelle.

      I believe there is a 30-day wait period with Amazon and they just sent out their direct deposit payments yesterday…

      So you wouldn’t be receiving the check until after the party. There are some affiliate programs and CPA networks that pay the day after you generate the sale, but Amazon isn’t one of them.

      Nice Squidoo lens as well, talking about an Amazon how-to product.

      If you did a keyword loaded domain and put that same review on your own site, you’d rank quite a bit higher for that product in organic search rankings…

      Then just link your squidoo lens to your money site since it’s got some backlinks already. Should up your affiliate revenue there.

        Well, I must admit, you both surprised me. I did not expect David to approve my comment, nor did I anticipate a thoughtful response from you, Jason. You have both exceeded my expectations, which is an extremely pleasant surprise.

        The only IMParty I attended was in January, because I was interested in the speaker (Roy H. Williams) and, I’m sorry to say, I was disappointed by everything except Mr. Williams’ polished presentation.

        However, your interesting reply gives me reason to consider attending a second event. Kudos to you – I would have sworn on a stack of affiliate checks that I would never darken that doorway again.

        (Not that the Party is a bad thing, I hasten to add, just that it wasn’t a good fit for me or the 3 people I brought.)

        I appreciate your advice regarding the squidoo lens, but for me to follow your advice at this time would be a “bright shiny object” that would take my attention off of my current project. Thank you, though. Whether I attend or not, I wish you only the best and all the success you can tolerate and manage.

    Hi,
    I’m producing The Austin Blind Cafe, a concert, dinner and community experience that happens in the pitch dark and all the waitstaff are blind.
    We donate money to help the blind community in the cities we visit. I do most of my marketing (spreading the word) via the internet.

    Is this Internet Marketing Party for people like me to who have service based businesses? Or is it just for Affiliate programs etc?

    I’m trying to decide if I should try to come to Austin for the next IMP event.

    My event is August 18th – 20th in downtown Austin. I don’t see a date for the next Austin IMP.

      As for who the party is for… this is for people who have ANY kind of business and want to learn more about the elements that make anyone successful online: Traffic (all kinds), Conversions, Funnels, Bundling, & of course, Joint ventures.

      I can see how you would get the impression that we are primarily about affiliate marketing, etc… after all, THIS particular speaker (Jason Drohn) happens to be a super affiliate, and that being said… some of the elements that make Jason successful are ones that you can apply to your service based business… actually, learning what he will present is likely to put you head and shoulders above your competition (you’ll see).

      also, these parties are largely about the networking, not just about our awesome speakers (who are realistically only on stage for about 20-40 mins).

    David:

    I had plane reservations to fly into Austin today to attend the Internet Marketing Party however, we had someone break into a car last night, vandalize it, and steal about 3k of expensive golf equipment. So that’s out the door!

    Just wanted to let you know that one of my guests will be there.

    Your event is THE BEST I have attended in years and provides a phenomenal forum to network in a non-threatening atmosphere which is essential to relationship building. So, please send me the dates for the next event in Austin and I’ll be there.

      you are the perfect kinda person for this… your head hasn’t been muddled up with all the different ways of making money to overwhelm yourself… lol. pick one thing, do it until you are making money and can do it with your eyes closed, both hands tied behind your back and directing 4 outsources who hardly speak english, THEN do another one.
